SPOILER NYC Prepares To Enter Studio
June 21, 2009SPOILER NYC, the New York-based punk trio featuring LIFE OF AGONY's Alan Robert on lead vocals and bass, head into the studio this week to begin recording the follow-up to its debut album "Grease Fire in Hell's Kitchen". Seven-time Grammy-Award winning producer Ken Lewis will handle recording and mixing duties on the new record, titled "Banned in 38 States".
Commented Alan: "We've got this new track called 'Damaged Goods' that I'm really proud of. It's about child abuse and trying to cope with that trauma as you get older. The more people I talk to, the more these horrible stories come up. It's really upsetting to know just how common it is and how many people out there have been abused as kids and how it continues to affect them as adults. It's something a lot of people don't ever bounce back from. I read somewhere that about one third of abused children will later abuse their own children, continuing the cycle. Maybe this song, in a very, very small way, can help spread that awareness."
SPOILER NYC's video for the song "Ruined" can be viewed below. The track comes off the band's debut album, "Grease Fire in Hell's Kitchen", which was released in 2007 through SOS Records (USA) and I Scream Records (Europe). The clip was filmed and edited by In The Making Productions on location in Dour, Belgium and Cologne, Germany while SPOILER NYC supported LIFE OF AGONY on tour last summer.
